ManduriaShire was founded in Manduria in 2022 by Maria Pia Ancora and Mario Dimitri, both born here, both away for twenty-eight years.
A town of thirty thousand people in Salento, Puglia, with a centre built of stone and half of it empty.
We believe a historic centre does not die of old buildings. It dies when people stop meeting.
So we buy the houses, we restore them with the people who have always worked this stone, and we offer them to those who want to live here rather than visit.
Some arrive as guests. Some stay as neighbours. Every house that finds its family pays for the next one.
We are not restoring a set. We are trying to give a town a reason to stay full.
